By 2020, over 67 percent of jobs in Illinois will require some postsecondary education or training—yet 3 million adults lack education beyond high school.

Illinois education leaders have adopted the 60x25 goal—to ensure that 60 percent of adults have a college credential by 2025. As our fact sheet, Breaking with Tradition: Adult Learners are Essential to Illinois' 60x25 Goal, explains, we simply cannot meet this goal by graduating high school students alone—we must focus on helping adults currently in the workforce return to school. WE is working to ensure that more working adults are on pathways to success, leading to better jobs and brighter futures.
