SUMMARY:Aspiring to Excellence: Fostering Student Success with Culturally Responsive and Inclusive Pedagogy Program
DESCRIPTION:Please join us for the third and final webinar hosted by our ASPIRE Project\, as part of a preview of our Developmental Academy\, set to begin in January 2026. Each webinar connects to one of three tracks tied to the academy: Developmental Education Reform Act (DERA) information and technical assistance\, college mentorship\, and Racial Equity and Inclusion work. \nToday’s classroom requires a perspective that exists with one foundational question: How does historical and societal context inform your perspective as a teacher/student/thinker/community member? The Aspiring to Excellence project at Illinois Central College helped their English and math faculty answer this question by incentivizing them to attend a 6-hour multi-workshop session on culturally responsive and inclusive teaching. Additionally\, monthly book club meetings were held to discuss substantive articles and texts related to these pedagogical themes and practices. Currently\, the project is being scaled up to involve other courses at our institution to align with our college vision. \nDate: November 14th\, 2025 \nTime: 1:00 p.m. — 2:00 p.m. CT \nRegister HERE today!

SUMMARY:No Kings Day Rally
DESCRIPTION:In America\, we don’t put up with would-be kings. Join Women Employed (WE) and our partner organizations for a rally and march in downtown Chicago as we come together to say NO KINGS! \nThis national day of action and mass mobilization responds to the increasing authoritarian excesses and corruption from Trump and his allies. We’ve watched as they’ve cracked down on free speech\, detained people for their political views\, threatened to deport American citizens\, and defied the courts. They’ve done this all while continuing to serve and enrich their billionaire allies. \nOn June 14—Flag Day—Donald Trump wants tanks in the street and a made-for-TV display for his birthday. But real power isn’t staged in Washington. It rises up everywhere else. And\, the flag belongs to ALL of us. \nNo Kings is a nationwide day of defiance. We’re taking action to reject authoritarianism—and show the world what democracy really looks like. On June 14th\, we’re standing together to say no thrones\, no crowns\, no kings. \nNo Kings Rally Details \n Date: Saturday\, June 14\, 2025\n Rally Time: 12:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m.\n Location: Daley Plaza\, look for the Women Employed signs to find us!\nQuestions or concerns?
