Each year, Women Employed organizes colleges and students across Illinois to advocate for increased funding for the Monetary Award Program (MAP), which provides grants to low-income students to help them attend college. This year, WE collected thousands of signatures on maps of the state representing how many students were denied MAP funding because of budget cuts. With the help of student advocates who traveled to Springfield for a day, we then delivered the maps directly to the General Assembly.
