Women Employed recently led a day-long training session for advocacy organizations. WE staff and policy leaders shared expertise about the best ways to advocate effectively for low-income, adult students.
The program, “The National Landscape of Financial Aid Policies: A Road Map for Adults,” provided tools and best practices for organizations from 22 states across the country. Women Employed shared expertise on how to mobilize students to become advocates, and along with former Illinois State Representative David Miller, provided insights into the best techniques to engage state leaders as financial aid champions.
Women Employed was honored to be invited by the Working Poor Families Project to share our policy expertise with fellow advocates around the nation.
