Great Nonprofits named WE as a top-rated organization based on positive online reviews
CHICAGO —Women Employed announced today that it has been honored with a 2014 Top-Rated Award by GreatNonprofits, a leading provider of user reviews about nonprofit organizations.
“We are excited to be named a Top-Rated 2014 Nonprofit,” says Anne Ladky, Executive Director of Women Employed. “We’re proud to see the community recognizing our accomplishments, such as the recent passage of a pregnancy fairness bill in Illinois.” The Top-Rated Nonprofit award was based on the large number of positive reviews that Women Employed received—reviews written by a broad range of individuals who range from volunteers and donors to experts and advisors. For example, donor Elizabeth Graettinger Cole wrote, “By mobilizing women to make a difference in the policies that impact all women's ability to attain a high quality, affordable education and advance in their careers, Women Employed is laying the groundwork for generations to come.”
“Savvy donors want to see the impact of their donations more than ever,” said Perla Ni, CEO of GreatNonprofits. “People with direct experience with Women Employed have voted that the organization is making a real difference.”
This form of community recognition reflects Women Employed’s high reputation as a leader in the fight for working women’s rights. The award joins our top rating from Charity Navigator, an independent evaluator of charities’ financial accountability and good governance practices, which is only given to 30 percent of the charities that Charity Navigator assesses.
