Senators Must Support Families First Coronavirus Response Act

UPDATE: This bill has now passed! Thank you to all who took action! We will be in touch with further ways you can support working families during this time.

The Families First Coronavirus Response Act, passed by the House on Friday, is an essential step in combatting the spread of COVID-19, and offers a vital lifeline to struggling families. The legislation provides 10 paid sick days and 3 months of paid family and medical leave, improves unemployment insurance, strengthens nutrition security initiatives, and increases federal funds for Medicaid. It is an emergency measure, however, to combat the current crisis and will not provide any permanent paid leave to workers.

The U.S. Senate must vote for the Families First Coronavirus Response Act and help ensure millions of Americans without paid leave can afford to stay home if they are sick, if they need to care for an ill family member, or if their child’s school or child care is closed because of COVID-19. They could vote as early as tomorrow (Monday, March 16th), so we need you to act TODAY.

Demand that your senators advance the Families First Coronavirus Response Act to the president’s desk immediately!

Together, we will ensure more women, families, and communities can build their economic power and thrive.
