Tell Your Senators: No SCOTUS Replacement Before the Inauguration
Despite Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s wish that her replacement not be confirmed until after the inauguration—and the Senate’s own 2016 Supreme Court vacancy precedent—President Trump has announced his pick, Judge Amy Coney Barrett. Judge Barrett has a history of decisions and statements that threaten women, workers, the LGBTQ+ community, healthcare, and more. And Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell is planning on confirming her as soon as possible.
Demand the Senate follow 2016 precedent, and Justice Ginsburg's wishes.
The winner of the 2020 election should get to nominate the replacement and, with the election already underway in many states, that means the Senate must wait to take action on Barrett. Make your voices heard and insist that the Senate not move forward with or consider the nomination of Judge Amy Coney Barrett until after the inauguration!
