Urge Congress to prioritize working families in the next COVID relief and recovery package!
The economic effects of the COVID-19 pandemic are unprecedented. Nowhere is this more evident than in the lives of working families who are struggling to balance at home schooling and work, often with no childcare. Colleges and their students are navigating the challenges of remote learning, technology access, and affordability. Workers without paid leave are worried about getting sick as missing work threatens their livelihood and their job security.
While the House passed the HEROES Act in May, the Senate has yet to act. We need Congressional action NOW to provide relief to workers and families to support all of our economic and physical health and well-being, and that of our communities as well. This includes immigrants and undocumented residents who have disproportionately been doing essential work that has kept our economy going throughout the pandemic.
Demand that Congress prioritizes the needs of working families including childcare, paid leave, and higher education in the next round of COVID-19 relief and recovery.
