Advocacy Council
Women Employed’s Advocacy Council is an informed group of volunteers who organize and advocate to advance WE’s mission to improve the economic status of women and remove barriers to economic equity.
Advocacy Council members are from diverse backgrounds with a strong commitment to women’s issues and social change with a range of skills and interests including leadership, marketing, organizing, and fundraising.
Members advance the movement for women's economic equality by

MOBILIZING our networks through events, e-advocacy, and social media to bring the voices of young women to the movement for change

INFORMING our personal and professional networks about the problem of low-paid work and what we can do together to solve it.

ADVOCATING to improve public policies to ensure fairness and open opportunities.

“FRIENDRAISING”and fundraising to strengthen Women Employed’s programs.

Advocacy and Marketing Council Fall Kick-Off Social
Join us for our joint Advocacy and Marketing Council Fall Kick-Off Social on Wednesday, September 17th, 2025 from 5:30 – 7:00 p.m. This in-person-only gathering will take place at Women Employed’s office at 67 E. Madison, Suite 2000, Chicago, IL, and will focus on community building, an update on FY 26 priorities, our Salary Transparency public education campaign, and more!
