Getting Less Than Minimum: Ending a Legacy of Slavery
March 25, 2021 @ 12:00 pm - 1:30 pm CDT
For most of us, tipping after a meal is second nature. But what you may not know is that workers who earn tips are paid a subminimum wage, which is direct legacy of slavery, and a major factor in alarming rates of harassment and wage theft experienced by women—especially Black and Brown women—in service industries. Join us for a conversation on why we cannot advance racial justice, gender equity, and workplace safety without eliminating the subminimum tipped wage and enacting one full and fair wage.
