Christina Green serves as the Senior Program Manager for the Accelerating Student Progress and Increasing Racial Equity (ASPIRE) Project at Women Employed. As a Senior Program Manager for the ASPIRE Project, Christina works closely with 10 community colleges throughout the state of Illinois to reform developmental education and create pathways to accessible and equitable education, career, and technical training for women, families, and communities.

Before joining Women Employed, Christina assisted in managing the College-Persistence Magis Program at Chicago Jesuit Academy, an all-boys tuition-free Catholic elementary school in the Austin community on Chicago’s West Side where she was responsible for developing and implementing a high school transition program to support high school and postsecondary access to Black and Latinx students and alumni. Prior to Chicago Jesuit Academy, Christina taught college level Ethnic Studies and Gender and Women Studies courses at the University of California, San Diego. As a graduate student her research focused on West Indian women’s labor and migration to Central America and the United States. Christina has committed her career to social justice work and education conducting teach ins for events such as the Women’s March and fighting for Black student retention on University of California campuses.

A proud Chicago native and product of Chicago Public Schools, Christina holds a Ph.D. in Ethnic Studies from the University of California, San Diego, and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

Together, we will ensure more women, families, and communities can build their economic power and thrive.
